Nina Shirey
Nina first joined Newark Academy as the junior varsity field hockey coach in the fall of 2019. In 2021 she was the Intern of Athletics, while also being named the middle school and junior varsity/varsity assistant girls’ lacrosse coach. After interning in the athletic department, she is now the Sports Information Director and coaches both field hockey and lacrosse. Nina earned her B.A. and M.A. in Sports Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University where she was also a member of the women’s lacrosse team and is currently an adjunct professor. While at FDU, Nina earned numerous all-conference and team accolades, while helping her team earn conference titles and NCAA tournament runs. Nina enjoys spending time at the beach and being with her family and friends.
