NA traveled to Nutley to open the 2022 season. Both teams came out with energy while trying to figure the other side out. NA would generate quite a bit of action in the attacking half but just couldn't capitalize. Although NA had the more dangerous play, the score remained scoreless at half. The second half felt similar to the first, with NA generating a bunch of opportunities in front of goal but credit the Nutley goalie for standing tall and making some good saves. The score remained tied and both teams headed to overtime. NA came close to scoring a few times, but some plays were called offsides, while other shots just missed high and wide. With seven minutes left in double overtime, Gracie Kelly sent a long free kick over the defense. Cami Gallagher raced past everyone before slotting a low shot into the net to make it 1-0 and win the game.

Credit the defense, led by Gracie, Olivia Palker, Larisa Basile, Izzy McNeilly-Anta, Olivia Gorannson for helping Zoe Hermans earn her first shutout of the season. Zoe finished with nine saves.

NA is 1-0-0 and will host MKA on Saturday, September 10. Kickoff is scheduled for 2pm.
