William Blomn
Billy Blomn joined Newark Academy in 1999 as part of the Physical Education Department and boys' and girls' varsity swimming head coach. He also has coached football since 1999 where he was the head varsity football coach from 2012-2017 and coaches middle school baseball. During his tenure as head swim coach, Coach Blomn has amassed over 250 wins, and in 2021 was named NJ.com's Boys' Swim Coach of the Year. In 2022, both the boys' and girls' teams were State Champions, with the boys winning the Prep B Championship as well. In 2023, both teams were Prep B champions, and the boys were State Champions. Prior to NA, Coach Blomn swam for four years at Montclair State where he was a four-time Division III All-American and was inducted into the Montclair State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010. He also served as an assistant coach at MSU for two years. Outside of Newark Academy Coach Blomn enjoys golfing, cooking and spending quality family time with wife Jessica and daughter Joslyn.
