Ed Lisovicz
Coach Edward Lisovicz joined Newark Academy in 2022, after six years as an assistant coach for the boys’ and girls’ varsity fencing programs at The Pingry School, where he also worked in the Advancement Office. He has worked with fencers of all skill levels, from novices to national team contributors.
An Essex County native, Coach Lisovicz grew up training with and learning from local masters. He earned a B.A. in English with a concentration in Writing at Gettysburg College, during which time he expanded his knowledge of historical fencing and learned HEMA techniques at the Historical Fencing Society of York. He holds a M.Sc. in Creative Writing from the University of Edinburgh, and in his free time enjoys reading and writing poetry.
