NA hosted Verona in a battle of the top two teams in the SEC Liberty division. Both teams were eager to get a win and came out with a lot of energy. Each team generated a few good looks early on but nothing came of it. After a back and forth half, Verona took advantage of a failed clearance with five minutes left and buried one into the corner to make it 1-0 going into half. NA regrouped and came out flying in the second half, with a flurry of scoring opportunities. NA hit the crossbar and the post and just couldn't get the ball into the net. With twenty-five minutes left in the game, Ava Cole took a throw-in from Delilah Loncar and tapped it to Cami Gallagher. Cami then took a touch and blasted one into the top corner that went through the keeper's hands to tie it 1-1. With eleven minutes left, Ava tracked down a ball in the corner before playing Delilah, who then sent a ball into the box. Mia Heinold volleyed the ball into the net for a goal to make it 2-1, which is a guaranteed goal of the year candidate. Two minutes later, Verona was able to find some space on the flanks and crossed one into the box for an open header to tie it 2-2. With the game destined for overtime, Gracie Kelly played a long ball over the defense to Ava who collided with the goalie and then managed to head the loose ball into an empty net to make it 3-2. Trying to hold on to the lead, Mia blocked a long ball that went right to Cami, who proceeded to fight her way through three defenders and two collisions before knocking one into an empty net to seal the win 4-2. Credit NA for a hard-fought win against a talented Verona team. Zoe Hermans recorded seven saves for the win.

NA improves to 5-0-0 and will travel to play Newark East Side on Wednesday, September 29. Kickoff is scheduled for 4pm.
