NA traveled to play Nutley on Tuesday afternoon for an SEC contest. Both teams were trying to figure the other one out in the early going, with each team generating a few chances. After a back-and-forth first half, neither team was able to find the net and the score remained 0-0 at halftime. The second half started with a lot of action. Nutley earned a fortunate penalty kick but Zoe Hermans was able to make a great save to keep the game scoreless. Soon after, Nutley had another opportunity to score but Zoe made a great save. Fifteen minutes into the second half, NA was able to take advantage of a counter attack. Cami Gallagher played a nice ball to Ava Cole, who slipped past two defenders before blasting a shot over the Nutley keeper to make it 1-0. While NA had one or two more looks on goal, the remainder of the game was a defensive battle, with NA doing everything they could to stop Nutley from scoring. NA would come away with a huge 1-0 win on the road. Zoe Hermans recorded ten saves. Credit the defense, led by Ines Lopez-Silvero, Gracie Kelly, Mia Heinold, Isabela McNeilly-Anta and Olivia Palker for helping Zoe earn her eighth shutout of the season.
NA improves to 10-1-0 and will host MKA on October 21 for the Prep B semifinals. Kickoff is scheduled for 4pm.
