The number two Minutemen of Newark Academy topped the number seven Defenders of Hawthorne Christian five to zero in the second round of the state tournament. Seniors Clifton Strain and Nathan Campbell, and Juniors Alejandro Lorenzo and Luka Loncar led the scoring efforts for the Minutemen each tallying a goal and an assist. Sophomore Aiden Lu also added a goal while Sophomore Nicholas Sikellis added an assist. Senior Max Alter saved three shots in the shutout. Newark Academy will host third seeded MKA in the semifinal round on Monday, November 8th at 4:00 pm.
