With the 2023 season behind them, marked by a record of 6-7, Coach Dan Gold and his squad look to make their mark in their 2024 campaign.

Coach Gold is now entering his second season with Newark Academy. The team doubled their win count in his inaugural year—from three wins the season prior to his arrival to six at the end of his first.

While bidding farewell to key players like All-NJILL Honorable Mention David Rodin ’23, the Minutemen are supported by the return of several standout performers. Leading the charge are the likes of All-Super Essex Conference (SEC) Colonial division, All-Prep and All-NJILL selection Luke Betlow ‘26 and All-SEC Colonial division and All-NJILL selections Lucas Rakela ‘25, Chase Fink ‘25, Justin Blann ‘25 and Asher Herman ‘24.

This season, the Minutemen will remain in the Colonial division of the Super Essex Conference.

Newark Academy will open up on the road at Clifton on Tuesday, April 2 with a 4:00 p.m. faceoff.
