Freshman Matthew Herbert started his career as a Minuteman strong with a record-breaking jump at the Coach Saint Invitational Meet on December 17. With a 13 foot jump, Matthew not only broke his personal record but the standing Newark Academy record as well. Matthew is now ranked first ninth grader in the nation and tied for third overall in the state of New Jersey.
