The Newark Academy girls' fencing team had a strong performance at the district tournament this weekend. The epee squad ended with a first place finish, while foil finished fourth and sabre finished fifth. Anousheh Reid, Jamie Shen, Isabela McNeilly-Anta, Sobia Reid and Ella Chang all qualified for the individual state championship which will be held on February 13 at Morris Knolls. With this performance, the girls' epee squad has also qualified for the squad states.
