Newark Academy | 5/26/2022

Newark Academy boys' tennis senior Nicolas Kotzen has been named a National High School All-American for the 2022 season. This is a highly prestigious honor, as only 40 of the top male and 40 of the top female tennis players in the country are selected. This recognition comes from the National High School Tennis All-American Foundation out of Newport Beach, California.

In order to be eligible for the All-American honors, a student/athlete must maintain an above-average academic record, compete on a high school tennis team, and be highly ranked in the USTA juniors. Nominees are considered in the following order: high-ranked seniors, top-ranked underclassmen and state champions. The honorees are then selected by eight of the most highly respected high school tennis coaches in the country. Kotzen currently has a UTR of 13.08 and is committed to play at Columbia University in the fall.
