The Newark Academy boys’ golf team has been named the NJ.com Team of the Year after winning their first-ever Tournament of Champions. The Minutemen had a strong season, winning the Blue Devil Invitational, the Essex County Tournament, the Non-Public sectional title, the Non-Public state title, and the T of C title. Led by Princeton-bound senior Nate Drogin, the team won 15 regular season matches, only dropping one to Delbarton.

The Minutemen are looking forward to getting back on the course next year to defend their state championship title, even though there is no more Tournament of Champions to aim for. Rising juniors Kevin Ha, TJ Betlow and Shreyas Hariharan, and rising sophomore Arjun Caprihan will look to step up and help fill the role of graduating seniors Nate Drogin and Joshua Horowitz.
