The Newark Academy varsity football team is looking forward to kicking off its 2022 season with a classic Friday night game this year. Heading into his fifth year as Head Coach, Keith Fischer brings a plethora of experience and knowledge to the program. Keith was a highly decorated member of the Dickinson College football team and he went on the work as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles scouting department from 2003-2011. Most recently, he was the defensive line and linebacker coach at his alma mater.

This season, following the lead of captains Adin Fastov ‘23, Kyle Fink ‘23 and Jelani Dean ‘23, the Minutemen are looking to improve their standing record and be competitive in their division. Facing the loss of graduates Max Weidhorn ‘22 and Chase Clarke ‘22, Newark Academy will rely on its returning talent and leadership to be successful.

The football season gets underway at Coursen Field on Friday, September 9 for a 7 p.m. kickoff versus Montclair Kimberley Academy.
