The Newark Academy girls' basketball team won its first Prep B championship since 2014 on Friday, February 17. The Minutemen topped Pennington 64-49 in the contest. Junior Dagny Slomack led all scorers with 26 points while junior Kat Dakos added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Zoe Hermans notched 12 points and six assists.

The Minutemen are now preparing for the first round of the NJSIAA State Tournament. They will host Kent Place on Wednesday, February 22 at 4 p.m. for the first round.
