The Newark Academy girls’ lacrosse team is eager to get back in action on Tuesday, April 4. Head Coach Noelle Shirey will return for her third year at the helm (fifth year with the program). The team is coming off a 3-14 finish last season, and is hoping to build on that this year. Team captains Hilary Adelman ’23 and Ines Lopez-Silvero ’23 are looking forward to leading the team’s newcomers. They will also work to navigate the team through the loss of recent graduates and All-Super Essex Conference (SEC) Liberty division first team, All-NJIGLL Independence Division first team, All-Prep League selection Kate Fishbone ’22, All-SEC Liberty division second team, All-NJIGLL Independence Division second team, All-Prep League Kaya Rajparia ’22 and All-SEC Liberty division Honorable Mention, All-NJIGLL Independence Division Honorable Mention and All-Prep League Honorable Mention Asha Toolsidas ’22.

This season, the Minutemen will be competing in the SEC Colonial division against Millburn, West Orange and Irvington and the NJIGLL Independence South division against Cedar Grove, Governor Livingston, Mount Saint Dominic, Millburn and Parsippany Hills. They open up on Tuesday, April 4 at 4 pm at Morris Hills.
