The Newark Academy boys’ lacrosse team is excited to start a new era this season under the direction of first-year Head Coach Dan Gold. Coach Gold played lacrosse at Emerson College and has twelve years of coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. He joined the Newark Academy faculty this past fall and has since taken on the role of the boys’ lacrosse program head. The team is coming off a 3-6 finish last season, and Coach Gold hopes to bring the team to new heights.
The Minutemen will lean on captain and All-Super Essex Conference (SEC) Colonial division Honorable Mention Justin Blann ’25, along with captain Asher Herman ’24 for guidance this year. The team will compete in the SEC Colonial division against Nutley, West Orange, and East Side.
Newark Academy will open its season with a road game on Monday, April 3 at Passaic County Tech with a 4 pm start.
