Newark Academy sixth-grade fencers Helina Li ’29 and Hanna Gugala ’29 traveled to Wroclaw, Poland to participate in the 45th Annual Challenge Wratislavia fencing tournament on March 19–20, 2023, the largest youth fencing tournament in the world. In her international debut, Helina competed in the U13 Girls’ Foil event and placed sixth out of 138 fencers. Hanna participated in the U13 Girls’ Sabre event on March 20 and placed fifth out of 48 fencers.
