BOYS' TENNIS WINS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Newark Academy boys' tennis team won its 12th straight state championship on Wednesday, June 7. The team beat Princeton Day with a score of 4-1. This was the team's 29th NJSIAA state title in program history. Prior to 1992, the team was part of the NJISAA Prep association in which they won ten titles.

The Minutemen's victory was led by second singles Ethan Polen '23 and third singles Aryan Grover '26. Newark Academy's first doubles pair of Jean-Luc Marchand '24 and Evan Lai '26 notched a point for the team and second doubles pair of Aadit Shrivastava '26 and Ian Zhang '23 scored the fourth for the Minutemen. The one loss for the Minutemen came at first singles Andrew Kotzen '24.

A selection of Newark Academy singles and doubles players will be competing in the state singles and doubles championships beginning on Saturday, June 10.
