On Tuesday, August 22, numerous Newark Academy Varsity tennis players helped organize and run the second annual Rally for Tennis (RFT) charity event at the West Orange Tennis Club, for the Greater Newark Tennis and Education (GNTE) in New Jersey. GNTE provides tennis instruction and educational opportunities to underprivileged children in the Newark area. Through the fundraiser, children from under-resourced communities will gain access to free tennis clinics, instruction, sneakers, tennis balls, rackets, court time, and more. Last August, the New Jersey event raised $44,642. This year, the New Jersey event raised over $60,000.

Rally For Tennis was launched in 2021 and features tennis clinics, high-level exhibition play featuring top nationally ranked players, raffle prizes and an online silent auction. This was the second time that the event was held in New Jersey and hosted by members of the Newark Academy boys' and girls' tennis teams.

This year, the event has been highlighted by multiple news networks.
