The Newark Academy boys’ soccer team had a monumental win over NJ.com ranked, #5 Montclair on Thursday afternoon. The Minutemen entered the match with a 6-3 record, while the Mounties of Montclair entered undefeated, with an 8-0-3 record. Jacob Cole ‘25 scored the game-winner for Newark Academy, with an assist from James Bradstock ‘24. This makes four-straight victories for Newark Academy, improving their record to 7-3. Montclair falls to 8-1-3 with the loss.

The Minutemen are hoping to ride this momentum into post-season play. Ranked seventh in the Prep Tournament, they will host tenth-ranked Blair Academy on Monday, October 9 at 4:30 p.m. for the first round.
