The Newark Academy varsity wrestling team is gearing up for a strong season. With a record of 8-13 last year, the team is poised to build on its successes under the leadership of returning Head Coaches Tyler and Bobby Loneker, who, in 2022, steered the team to its first conference win since 2013.

Major Losses:
The graduation of captains Adin Fastov ‘23 and Cameron Wright ‘23, both recognized with All-Super Essex Conference (SEC) Second Team honors, leaves a notable void in the lineup. The team will rely on returners and newcomers alike to overcome opponents.

Looking Ahead:
This year's captain is Michael Cetrulo '25. In the upcoming season, the Minutemen will face off against rivals in the SEC Colonial division with matchups against Orange, East Side, Columbia, EOC, Barringer and Newark Collegiate.
