Boys' Swimming Takes Home Third Straight Prep B Title

The Newark Academy boys' swimming team won the Prep B Championship on Tuesday, February 6. This was the program's third Prep B title in a row. The Minutemen finished with a final score of 291. Pennington came in second with 246 and Montclair Kimberley Academy followed with 125. Other schools that competed included Morristown Beard, Wardlaw-Hartridge and Rutgers Prep.

The Minutemen boasted multiple top finishes that helped propel them to their win. First-place finishes included Owen Markowitz '24 in the 200 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle. Second-place finishes included Brett Matlosz '25 in the 50 Freestyle and the 200 Freestyle Relay (Owen, Jasper Schnieders-Smith '24, Brett and Ted Crall '25). The team's third-place finish included 200 Medley Relay (Jasper, Owen, Ted and Brody Linenberg '25).

Along with their second-place finish, the 200 Freestyle Relay team finished with a time of 1:28.75, which broke the standing school record previously set in 2022.
