Newark Academy athletics hosted a spring Signing Day ceremony for four members of the Class of 2024 who have committed to playing their respective sports at the collegiate level, on May 21, 2024. This is in addition to the 11 student-athletes who had previously committed during the Signing Day Ceremony held on February 7.
The spring ceremony celebrated one student-athlete who signed on to play at the NCAA Division I level and three who have committed to play at the Division III level. Family, friends, teachers and coaches were in attendance to cheer them on.
The Division I signing is Lavarra Hines Jr. to College of the Holy Cross for track and field.
The Division III commitments are Olivia Croshaw to Dickinson College for field hockey, Reina Hassell to Amherst College for volleyball and Ishaan Solanki to Case Western Reserve University for track and field.
“I am thrilled that we have so many student-athletes committing to participate in collegiate athletics,” says Director of Athletics Seth Lieberman. “It is a testament to the hard work that the student-athletes, their coaches and families have put in to get to this day. We’re proud to be a school where you can achieve both academic and athletic excellence.”
